| 13: What To Display On Your Site |

Now
you know how to add to and edit the content of your site, you need to
decide what information you wish to display and how you are going to
display it. Try and remember that each site/program that you list on
site might be read by somebody that has never seen an advert for it.
What information are they going to be looking for, what do they need to
know about the site before they can make their decision to join or not
to join. There are two ways of listing this information, you can list
it as fact (as I do on my site) or you can list it with a sales pitch.
There are good and bad points for both of these options. Lets look at
them to help you decide which method you prefer. |
The honest approach
|
If you list the facts about the site, it will appear something like;
Now
this listing just states the facts. There is no sales pitch and no
hype. This gives the visitor the chance to see what they can expect to
earn, how they can be paid, who is eligible for membership with this
program and payment history. The advantages for listing it in this way
is that there is a very low chance that they will join, then leave or
become and inactive member of your down-line. This is because they have
a clear expectation of what they can earn, in what way they can earn,
and how fast they can earn. They are more likely to become and remain,
an active member of your down-line. |
No consider the sales type listing advertising the same site
|
Now
this way of displaying the information makes it look very appealing.
You get paid to promote this site and you can get paid for reading
emails from this site. However, it does not tell you anything about how
much you can earn, how fast you can earn, and who can join. So somebody
looks at this ad and thinks "That sounds interesting, looks like I can
earn a bit of money there, I'll give it ago". So they join up, find
that they have to pay for advertising promoting this site, the paid
mails number about 10 a day and you get about 5 cents a week at the
beginning (amounts are for example purposes only). So they then think "This isn't working out how I thought it
would", so they either leave the site or just do not bother it any more.
This is called an inactive referral. |
| The difference between the two listings |
|
Obviously
there is a chance that after they have joined via the second type of
ad, they will like it and will remain an active referral. However, I
have found that although the first type of gets you fewer referrals,
they are better quality referrals because they know what to expect
before they join. They are less likely to be disappointed than someone
joining through the second type of ad. So the second type of add may
get you more referrals, but there will be a high percentage of that
down-line that are inactive. So it becomes a question of quality over
quantity, you just have to decide which you prefer and advertise
accordingly. |
| Presentation |
Nobody will stay and explore your website
if it looks a mess, that's biggest factor in getting visitors to your
site, is can you get them to stay at your site. It has to be clear where they can find the
information, and do so with only one or two clicks of their mouse. For
this reason mini links work very well. You can see what I mean below;
You
can also separate each listing with a discrete but noticeable
advert, a link to a different part of the site. This lets the visitor
know that there are other sections of the site that are of a similar
nature to what they originally came to look at, but maybe never
considered looking for that information. This then gives them another
incentive to stay and explore another area of your site, that they
would never have considered looking for, or looking at when they first
arrived. You are then increasing even further, the chance that they may
join more than one of the sites/program you are listing. |
| Summary |
| So
you now have an idea of the information you can list, how you can list
it and the importance of trying to entice a visitor to explore your
site once they arrive at it. Again I suggest taking your time with this
aspect of running your site, look at other peoples sites, see what
works for you and see what doesn't. We will cover further aspects and
methods of earning that you can also list on your site to generate
additional income, it's important that your site grows as your
knowledge grows. That way you are always maximizing your earning
potential. |
