2: Getting Your PC Ready
Need help? Then click HERE
This stage will help you start to get ready for your Internet-Earning venture. It will cover Browser and Email selection and set up. The first thing you need to do is get the fastest and most secure browser and email package. This is very important because, if set up properly, will greatly increase your speed, and therefore increase your productivity, when working on-line.
To start with I recommend that you use Firefox as your browser and Gmail as your email provider. I will outline why below.
Setting up Firefox
Many of the additional security products and add-ons listed below are exclusive to Firefox. I recommend it, not only for that, but also its operating speed, it's default security settings and the many excellent add-ons that are available with it. Important - Make sure you select the option to include the Google Toolbar before you start the download. You can download it HERE.
After you have downloaded Firefox and the Google Toolbar you now need to make sure you have the right settings to help you work in a quick and safe manner, so lets adjust the settings to do so. Simply adjust settings to how you see them below;

Click; Tools > Options > Main, Then adjust and set the options as shown Below;

Click; Tools > Options > Tabs, Then adjust and set the options as shown Below;

Click; Tools > Options > Content, Then adjust and set the options as shown Below;

Click; Tools > Options > Privacy, Then adjust and set the options as shown Below;

Click; Tools > Options > Security, Then adjust and set the options as shown Below;

Click; Tools > Options > Advanced > General, Then adjust and set the options as shown Below;

Click; Tools > Options > Advanced > Network, Then adjust and set the options as shown Below;

Click; Tools > Options > Advanced > Update, Then adjust and set the options as shown Below;

Click; Tools > Options > Advanced > Encryption, Then adjust and set the options as shown Below;

Next step is to set up your browser so that it will open all links in a new tab, you do this as follows;
On the Google Tool Bar click the green circle labelled "Settings"
From the drop down menu that appears click "options"
Click the "Features Icon" (this may already be displayed)
Click "Search Box Settings"
From the pop-up window make sure the option "Open search results in a new tab" is checked.
Setting up Gmail (AKA Google Mail)
This again is the fastest of the email providers. It is free and the custom filters and preferences that you can set up for receiving mail and instant messages make this, in my opinion, one of the very best there is. It seems also to have a very low bounce rate on incoming email that's far better than its competitors. A low bounce rate on incoming emails is essential as this, at first, will be the primary source of income and you will also receive many important messages from the companies and sites you are about to join. If you do not receive the mails - you can't earn, you could also miss important updates/news and that could also lead to loss of, or reduced earnings. Many of the other email providers are notorious for bouncing mail back to the server and labelling it as spam when it isn't. You can get your account HERE, and you need to install the Gmail notifier (if you haven't got it already when installing Gmail) you can get that HERE.
Now you have your Gmail account you need to take full advantage of it. The first thing you are going to need to do is get it ready to handle your incoming mail. This is important because as you progress with you Internet-Earning you are going to be receiving different types of mail from the different programs, sites and companies you will be working for. So lets make a start.
The separate folders you are going to set up are known as labels, you can see the labels I have set up on my account below, its the green box displayed;

Your section will be empty of course, but you can see how I have divided mine up, so I can access a specific mail quickly and easily. Each label I have created tells me what kind of mail it is, or who it is from. You are going to be receiving different types of email from different types of companies so it will be just as important for you to ensure that you start off organized and then stay organized. So every time we introduce to a different type of earning or site you will need to create a label. As you are going to be dealing with paid mails first, that's the label we will set up now.

Click "Edit Labels" or it may be displayed as "New Label" or something similar, and you will see the following;

Towards the bottom of this "Settings" table, you will see a box "Create a new label", Create a label "Paid To Read".

Now you need to redirect all paid mails in to that label/folder. You will only need to do this once for each site, because each mail received after the redirect will automatically be applied with that label. This is how we do that;

An email when opened will be displayed like this;
Simply highlight the email address the mail has come from including the < > by left clicking at one end of the email address and dragging the cursor across the email address like this:
Then hover the cursor over that grey area and right click, from the menu that appears select "Copy"

Now click "Create a filter" shown and circled below;
To get the filter menu as displayed below;
In the box "From" right click and select "Paste" from the menu that pops up, the email address you have just copied will then be displayed in that box.

We will leave the other boxes empty, so click "Next Step" to go to the next screen, check the box "Skip the inbox (archive it)"
then check the box "Apply the Label" and select "Paid to read" from the box or scroll down menu (it will be one of the two as different versions of Gmail will have one or the other)

Check the boxes "Apply Filter to X conversations below" the x will be however many emails are in your in-box from that particular email address.

Click the tab "Create Filter"

You need to do this with every Paid To Read site you join.

That email(s) will now have been placed in that label/folder. If you have only one email from that address, there will be no figure next to the label Paid To Read as Gmail only counts un-opened emails when displaying the number, if you had more than mail from that address you will now see a figure indicating how many mails there are with that label.
To gain access to those mails simply click the name of the label (Paid To Read in this case), all the mails with this label are now displayed. You are free to deal with them as needed.
So now you now how to create labels. Each time you receive a different type of mail (from me for example) just repeat the above replacing "Paid to read" with "Internet-Earners" for example. I suggest doing this every time you receive a different type of message, similar to how I have done with mine, displayed in the picture of my labels, because it makes it so much easier to find a particular mail from a particular source. Otherwise you could end up scrolling through about 300 mails trying to find the one you need!!
