4: Your Payment Processors |
Need Help? Then Click HERE |
|
Now we are going to set up your online payment processors. These will allow you to receive your earnings, purchase advertising (I’ll go into that later), and transfer your funds to your own bank. There are a lot of payment processors in use by many of the sites and programs you will shortly be joining. For the moment though you will just need three. They are, E-Gold, PayPal and AlertPay.
You will have the choice of setting up personal and / or business accounts with them. To start with I recommend you set up personal accounts so you avoid the fees which are attached to business accounts.
Each country has their own terms with each processor, so the rules and terms of use, that I am subject to in the UK, will be different for somebody in the US. So it is very important that you read and understand each processors terms of service/conditions of use. I advise that you “verify” your accounts if possible, the means of doing so again depend on your country of residence, as doing this could reduce or remove fees and spending / receiving limits, plus some programs will only pay out to verified accounts. |
|
PayPal |
PayPal is the most widely used processor in the industry. When you have attached this to your everyday bank account, or credit / debit card you will be able to transfer money immediately giving you instant access to your funds. You get your account HERE. |
|
E-Gold |
E-Gold is the second most used of the three. Transferring money from there to your own bank account needs to be done via an exchange service. So you will need to set up two accounts, one with E-Gold and one with an exchange provider in order to transfer and withdraw funds. Because of this “extra step” needed to gain access to your funds, most people will accept payments via E-Gold but then instead of withdrawing that money, using it to purchase advertising and upgrades instead. (do not worry - I will explain more about advertising and upgrades later) You will quite often get a reduction in the cost of these services as program / site owners need a steady supply of E-Gold in order to make there payments. By the same token though, you might find that payments requests via E-Gold are normally subject to a 10% handling fee as the site / program owners normally have to buy the E-Gold in order to pay via it. You can get your account HERE and find a list of recommended exchange services HERE. |
|
AlertPay |
AlertPay is the third most popular payment processor and in certain sections are fast becoming even more popular because the terms of service are far more relaxed for site / program owners than PayPal. Again, as with PayPal, I suggest getting verified as soon as possible. Again the process for doing this differs from country to country. You can get your account HERE. |

THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! |
|
You need to recognize fraudulent attempts to access your accounts. There may/will be occasions when you receive an email(s) stating that there is a problem with one of your accounts. They will ask you to log in to your account in order to deal with whatever the problem may be. There will be a link in the email that will take you directly to the resolution section of the company concerned. NEVER EVER click this link. It will hide a keylogger which will track your log in details, your name and password, thereby giving them access to your account and you will often find on arrival that there is no problem with your account, they were scaring you into logging in out of concern. As these emails can be very realistic and are difficult to spot anything suspect about them, always abide by one rule, Always open a new window or tab and log into your account from the main home page of the site. It is better to take an extra few seconds to protect your account than risk losing all your funds and personal information that they will have access to, if they acquire your log in details. You will also receive email notification every time somebody send a payment to anyone of your accounts, and there will be a link to click that will say something like, "Click here to see the details of this transaction". Whilst this may be a genuine email, why take the chance of exposing your information to a third party? Even with these mails never click the link. No matter what it says on the email, no matter how urgent or important the message, NEVER EVER ENTER YOUR ACCOUNTS THROUGH A LINK IN AN EMAIL ALWAYS LOG IN VIA THEIR HOMEPAGE IN A NEW WINDOW OR TAB. If you do this, it is yet another simple action that will greatly increase your personal and computers safety and integrity. You should always do what you can, whenever you can, to maintain or increase the security aspects of your online activity.
OK, once you have set these accounts up you are now ready to start earning. This will be covered by the next stage. |
