This document will help you increase your earning potential at the sites you are a member of. Please note however, that not all of the following features are available at all sites. When you log in to a site you will see that you have a lot of options available to you in your own Members Area. The most common options you will find are;
Ad Stats
This is where you can track any advertising you have running at this site, this will be covered later.
Affiliate Page
This is a page that you can purchase and place your own ads on and also get paid for every time someone looks at that page. This will be covered in detail in a later stage.
Buy/Sell Points
This is where (if you have opted-in for, or receive mails, or click banners that have a point value) you can exchange points for cash by buying or selling them to/from other members and/or the site.
Cash Out
You click this link to request payment, if you have enough funds available to request a payment.
Click Contest
Sometimes sites will run click contests. If a contest is running, all your relevant clicks on paid to click links and email adverts are tallied up. Each site will decide which type of "click" (banners and/or paid mails and/or contest PTCs etc) will be counted in the contest. There is then a chart showing member standings, ie: the top member in the list will have clicked the most links and then in descending order below that the next member with the next highest total of clicks and so on and so on. The winner is the member(s) with the most clicks and will be awarded their prize at the end of the period the competition is set to run for. This is a useful feature that will allow you to see your current placing in the standings at any time during the competition.
Contest PTC
This section will contain a lot of adverts in the form of banners. Not to be confused with the click contest mentioned above. You will click these banners in the same way you would click a link in a paid mail. This will then take you to a new window/tab that will display the product/service advertised on the corresponding banner. As with paid mails, you will need to wait for a timer to expire in order to have your visit registered. Note how I did not say your account credited. That is because some sites will attach a small value to these ads, whilst other sites will not attach any value to them at all. Whether they have a small or no value attached to them, does not affect how this section works, it is the same way across all sites that have this feature. Instead of awarding each advert its equivalent value of the normal paid mails or banners, the site owner reduces or removes that value, and instead, after a pre-determined amount of clicks made within this section, will award one of the members a higher amount of money as the prize, and they will be randomly chosen by the script, not the admin or owner. I have placed an example below to help you understand and you will see it presented something like this;

Contest PTC Section

Every 50 clicks a member will be chosen at random to receive the prize of $0.01

And then you would see the list of banners here.

Obviously the prize and number of clicks when winners are chosen, will vary from site to site.
Downline Stats
This is where you will see how many members you have in your down-line. A new member that joins a program through one of your referral links is known as a "referral" or "ref" for short. Your down-line is the number of referrals you have at that particular site. That's the same type of link you used initially to enter your email address in order to join the site Then, if you remember, when you were completing the sign up process, you saw my user name in the "Referred By" box. This is where those members, who are your refs, are displayed and on what level of your down-line they are in. I will cover this in detail later.
Earnings
This is the amount you have earned. This is also listed as "Transactions" in some sites.
In Box
This is where the paid mails would be sent if you selected to receive your mails via "In Box" or "Email Address And In Box". If you have chosen to have your mails sent to your email address only, this field will always be empty.
Log Out
You log out via this link.
Manual Surf
This is a section where you can view adverts and sites without the need to keep clicking links or opening mails. If you click this link you will be taken to a site where a timer will begin. After the timer expires you will be presented with a "Turning Number". This will present you with a word/image/number and then ask you to click the corresponding word/image/number from a menu that will have three or four similar words/images/numbers. You then move on automatically to the next site and repeat the process. You will earn either cash, points or views for your site/advertising, should you have any running, or listed in the exchange, for each site that you view.
PTC Section
PTC means Paid To Click. This section is another method of earning cash/points with this site. When you enter this section you will see a list of banner adverts, you will click the banners in turn, which will open a site displaying the product/service advertised by the banner you have just clicked. As with paid mails, you will need to wait for a timer to expire in order to receive credit.
Paid To Promote
This is not available on every site, and on sites that do offer this feature, there may be certain conditions and criteria that have to be met before you can use it. I will cover this in detail in a separate stage.
Paid To Sign Up
Paid To Sign Up or PTSU for short is a section of the site that will have a list of different products/services/sites that you may want to join. As the name suggest you will be paid a certain amount to join/buy/subscribe one of the sites or services listed. You simply need to look through the products/services/offers and select those that interest you. There will be qualifying conditions that will be unique to each product/service/offer, that need to be met in order for you to receive your payment. You need to make a note of these and abide by them, in order to receive your payment.
Points PTC
This works the same way as the other PTC sections except the reward value is points instead of cash for the adverts/banners clicked.
Points To Cash
This is where (if you have opted-in for, or receive mails that have a point value) you can exchange points for cash. There will be a set ratio that will tell you what each batch of points is worth in cash. You will normally convert larger amounts of points to cash as opposed to converting one point at a time. Each amount and payment ratio is unique to each site, so check the value before exchanging.
Redemption Area
This section is where you can redeem your earnings, both points(if the site has point mails and links and you have opted-in to receive them) and cash from your account balance, for advertising and/or upgrades. Even if you do not have a big enough balance to cash out, you will still be able to use the balance (all or part of it - whichever you choose) to purchase these with. Any site/program that does not allow you to use your account balance to upgrade warrants further, detailed research, as this could be a sign of an untrustworthy site. Some sites though, even if they don't allow you to do this, are still trustworthy. It is up to the owner of each program/site as to whether they allow this or not.
Referral Centre
This is the section you use to gain access to your personal referral links and banners. This aspect will be covered in detail later.
Referral Contest
Site and programs often have referral contests, this means the competition is won by the person or people, who've have introduced the most new members to the program. A new member that joins a program from one of your referral links is known as a "referral". Your down-line is the number of referrals you have at that particular site. The number of referrals you have in the contest will not include every referral you have, only the ones that have joined in the time period set out in the competition.
Support PTC
These sections work the same way as the other PTC sections, but the links will have a point value, small cash value or no value at all. This is to aid the owner keep the site sustainable, and with these ads, they keep all or a larger part of the purchase price. You may also see support mails from some sites and they work in the same way. These are not forced links at most sites, that means you do not have to click them. Although some sites that send the support links via email in addition to, or as opposed to, listing them here, may have certain requirements that mean you may have to click some, or all of them. This is very rare though and should be stated in the programs "terms of service".
Tier 1&2 PTC
Tiers correspond to a number of countries grouped into different tiers. The tiers are as follows;
Tier 1 countries;
Canada, UK and USA
Tier 2 countries;
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.
These can vary from site to site though, so always check first. So as this section states that it is a Tier 1 and 2 PTC section, only members from Tier 1 and 2 countries are allowed access to these ads. This is because the advertisers that have bought ads/links for this section, wish only to target them to members from specific countries. I will cover this topic in detail later but, if you are not from a Tier 1 or 2 country and you try to click the links in this section you will be putting your account and earnings at risk.
Upgraded Ads
If you have purchased an upgrade with this particular site, you would use this section to submit your ads that each upgrade entitles you to. Again do not worry about this for now as we will cover this later.
Upgrade
This is the section where you can view and/or purchase, one of the upgrades that are available to you.
User Info
This is the section that contains all the information you submitted when joining. You use this section to update your personal contact details and/or preferences, should either change since you originally signed up.
Summary
So now you have a little more understanding of how many other methods of earning money there are at any particular site. The question is "Which do I use, and what would give me the greater benefit?"
The answer is that is, this depends on which site you are a member of. The best way to find out is to check through them all when you have joined. You will then see for yourself what areas are worth visiting every day. I recommend that for now, you just do the Paid mails and the PTC aspects to earn from your sites. Get into a routine of clicking the mails at the same time everyday, and also clicking the PTC sections at the same time everyday. This then leads to another question, "Why the same time every day?"
Well that's because each advert is normally set up for 24 Hour Unique Visits. This means that each ad (if it is purchased as such - some are, some aren't) will be clickable every 24 hours. So if you click on advert "a" in a paid mail and then receive credit for it, at 10:00 am on a Thursday you will not be able to click that link again for 24 hours - even if it appears back in your inbox at 7:00 pm the same day. If you try to click the paid mail before 10:00 am on Friday, you will see the message "You have already visited this advertiser and was credited at the time" so if you then delete that link you will have to wait until it is sent again by the admin at 7:00 pm on Friday night, or if you are not online then, clicking it when you are next online on Saturday for example. This means that you have not earned anything from that advert at all on Friday. This principle of "24 Hour Unique Visits" also applies to the adverts in the PTC section. So in order to maximize your earnings, always try and click the paid mails and banners at the same time of the day whenever possible.
The next stage will deal with down-lines, what they are and how they can increase your earning potential even further.
