Welcome to the Get Your Own Site section
In this section I will show you how to get and build your own site. You do not need any script writing, coding or programming skills to be able to build your own site. Everything is listed in step by step instructions, and the more complicated actions have screen shots so you can see what you need to do. I will separate the process into individual steps because if you need to return to this section later you will only need to remember the last step you completed. Because this section is quite detailed you can use the short cuts below to get to the step you need. Just click the appropriate number to go to the step you need.

OK, click HERE and this will take you to an image hosting site called Photobucket. I recommend this site because the account is free and large enough to cope with what you need it for. The next thing you will need is an account at Freewebs, again this is free and big enough to cope with your needs. Once you have decided what your site will be called, go HERE and register a new account.

You will need two links for each program you want to advertise on your site, they are your referral link for the program concerned and the link to the image on your Photobucket account. So create a document using your computers notepad, and list each site and underneath copy and paste the referral link and the image link in to it. Don't worry I will show you how to get the link you need from Photobucket once I have shown you how to upload the banner.

Static & flashing text Banners or Avatars made to order at just $2.50 each, click HERE for details.
On your Photobucket accounts home page look to the left of the screen and you will see three boxes, in the top box, you will see an option "add a new album", in the text box below that type "Ref Banners", then click save. You have now created one album in which you will keep all your ref banners, that way you can find them quickly and easily, when you need them. It should now say something similar to "Album Added - You are now viewing Ref Banners". When you log into Photobucket again and you want to gain access to your Ref Banners folder, this will be displayed in the same box that you created the new album in, the top box on the left of the screen, you simply click on "Ref Banners" in that box and it will load that album straight away.

Step 4 - Uploading Your Banners To Your Photobucket Album
In the Referral Centre of your members section of the first GPT site, scroll down to the banners, if there is more than one you can chose you favourite, or up load all of them in turn, it is entirely up to you.
1 - Right click the on the banner you have chosen,
2 - From the menu that appears, "save image as",
3 - Enter the name you wish this banner to be known as, this is just for your reference, and if you are going to upload more than one banner from the same site, you may wish to name them as follows; Thenameofthesite1, Thenameofthesite2 etc, just substitute Thenameofthesite with the actual name of the site ie. Fusion1, Fusion2 etc.
4 - Make sure that you have "Desktop" selected from the drop-down menu at the top of this window, (This makes it quick and easy to upload from your desktop, as opposed to My Pictures or My Documents, because once you have uploaded them you will delete them from your computer.)
5 - Click "Save"
Now for the next step which is uploading that banner from your desktop to Photobucket. On your Photobucket Ref Banners album you will see a large box in the centre of the screen, it will have three empty fields with each having a "Browse" tab next to it. (You can upload 3 images at a time and may be something you wish to try later. For now though, I will just take you through the process of uploading one image at a time.)
1 - Click the top "Browse" tab
2 - In the window that appears, make sure that the word "Desktop" is displayed in the drop down menu at the top of the window. If it isn't, click the drop-down menu and then select "Desktop" from the list that appears.
3 - You will then be able to see the banner you have just saved in the large window. Click that to display it in the second text box from the bottom in the large window.
4 - Click Open, you will then see a green tick appear where the "Browse" tab you just clicked was.
5 - Click Upload and wait a few seconds
6 - You should then see a green tick appear with the message "1 of 1 image has uploaded"
7 - Go back to your Desktop by minimizing all windows you currently have open, and delete the banner you have just uploaded, as you no-longer need it on your computer.
The link for the banner you need is the "Direct Link" displayed in the boxes under the mini picture of the banner. Copy and paste that link to the document you created, so now you have the name of the program and the two links with it, one is your referral link, the other is the link to the banner in your Photobucket album.

Step 7 - Building Your New Page
You will now see the following displayed in the middle of your screen (obviously yours will be a different template);
Click the "Add New Paragraph" You will now see the editor, this displayed below;
When looking at the paragraph editor you need to make sure that the drop-down menu next to "Paragraph Type:" always displays "Paragraph Editor", it should display this by default each time you open it. When using the paragraph editor you can see that most of the tabs displayed at the top are very similar to the controls used with a word processor. There are some additional control tabs that you may not have seen before, so we will now cover what they are and what they do. The following image will help;
There are now four numbers displayed. These are the only four tabs that you need to know about when adding content to your site at this stage.
Tab 1 = You create an external hyperlink using this tab to another site or email address
Tab 2 = You create an internal hyperlink using this tab to a page within your site
Tab 3 = You cancel or "Break" a link using this tab
Tab 4 = You insert an image with this tab

Step 8 - Inserting An Image Or Banner
I suggest using the first paragraph to display a short introduction or description to the page. Now at this stage you probably have no idea what you could write here. That's OK, for now it is not important, so I suggest leaving this paragraph empty for now. As you start to explore the Internet through the ads you are going to be seeing, look at how other people have presented their sites. Have a look to see what kind of thing works and what doesn't. This is your personal choice as to how your site is presented but there are one or two things to bear in mind when creating your site. I suggest that you make your pages informative, simple and easy to read and navigate, and provide the information that you would wish to see when considering joining additional sites. As you wont be advertising this just yet, you have plenty of time available to look at other sites and use aspects of them that appeal to you.
Please note; never copy content directly, always make your content unique even though you may want to portray the same information. Always link to images from your Photobucket account never direct from somebody else's site. This will increase the bandwidth used by that site, and they will have to pay more for this increased bandwidth usage.
So click "Add new paragraph" again and then click "Edit" on the second paragraph.
The second paragraph;
This is the one that we are going to use for your first programs listing. Again you may not know what text or information you wish to display with the link. Do not worry you will be able to add/create content here later, once you have an idea of what information you wish to display. So all you need to do for now is select which site you want to promote in this paragraph. Once you have made you decision write the name of the site in the "Paragraph Title" field.
Then copy the banner link for your Ref and Banner links document, for the first site/program you wish to list. Place your cursor in the text field and then press "enter" to move the cursor down to the second row in the text field. This will give you the room to insert text above the banner at a later date. You will be able to enter as many lines of text above the banner because when the first line has been created, you only need to press enter/return on your keyboard, this will move the banner down and at the same time, create you additional lines of text.
Now the cursor is on the second row click tab 4 and a small window will open as follows;
Simply paste the banner link into the text field, as shown above, and click "Insert" you will then see the following;

Step 9 - Creating A Link To The Site From Your Banner Via You Referral Link
Now all we have to do is attach a link to that banner, so that when somebody clicks it, they will be taken to the site via you ref link. We do that by;
Highlight and copy your ref URL, then left click on the banner and a box will appear around the as follows;
When that box is displayed click tab 1, another window will appear as follows;
Click "Link to another website" and paste your ref link into the text field - making sure you have deleted the http:// that was already displayed, check the box "Open link in a new window" as shown below, and then click "Create Link"

You will now see the banner is shaded grey;
That's it, that banner is now linked to the site via your ref link. Anybody that goes to the site by clicking on that banner will (if they join) join under you. So we now need to save the work in order to preserve the link. So click "Done" in the top right-hand corner of the paragraph editor, you will now see the paragraph contains that banner. Click "Done" again to return to your Cpanel, click "See my site" in the top right hand corner of the screen. This will load your new site in a new tab. From that new "Public View" of your site copy and paste the URL of your site at the top of all your links in the Ref And Banner link document under the heading "My site". When purchasing advertising this is the link that you will give, so that your advert is tied to your site. From the public view of the site, click Paid to read from the nav bar to go to the page we have just created and you will see that banner. If you click on that banner it should load the site in a new tab/window. That's it, you have just created your first link.

Step - 10 Creating A Text Link To An External Site
Now you need to know how to link text to a site.
This works in the same way as linking an image/banner. Go back to your Cpanel and re-load the paid to read page that we just worked on.
Add another paragraph and type "this is a test", in the text box of the paragraph editor. Highlight the word test, by left clicking at one end of the word and dragging the cursor across the word. Then click tab 1 to see the link generator window, click "link to another site" copy and paste the following URL into the Link address : box, again removing the original http:// that will already be there,
http://www.internet-earners.com/
Check the box to open the link in a new window, then click "Create Link", click "Done", then click "Done" again to return to your Cpanel, close the tab with the "Public View" of your site, return to your Cpanel, click "Show my site" from the new tab that appears and navigate to the paid to read page, click on the word "text" and that will take you to my site.
So you can see that its possible to link any word to any site. So you now have the option available to use both text and image links when building your site. Now because you don't want to give me a lot of free advertising!, you need to know how to break or alter a link. So go back to that particular paragraph editor, highlight the word "test" again and click tab number 3, that word is no-longer a live link.
Now using the methods above we can turn the word "text" in to an email link. Simply highlight it again, click tab 1 but this time select "Create Email Link" enter the email address craig@internet-earners.com into the text box and click "create link". Then click done, click done again to return to your Cpanel, click "see my site" making sure you have closed the previous public view of your site. Now if you click the word test it will open up your email screen with my email address displayed into the "To" address field of the mail. So you can link any word or phrase to any site or email address. Now return to the paragraph and select "Delete" above the paragraph to remove it.
That's it, you now know how to create pages, add paragraphs, create and break different types of links. Happy editing!
